We put on just over 400 miles in 4 days...in the YOOP and Northern Wisconsin...all I can say is..I LOVE this sled...this is easily the best handling, easiest steering apex I have ever ridden...the rear skid does take some getting used to....but it works very well...As I mentioned before..I can push this through rough stuff at speeds that I would dare try on my attak.
We had a couple 2014, and 2015 Polaris 800's with us, and of course we lined up on a little lake to play a bit...they can beat me out of the hole...but then I reel them in...we are almost dead even at the 1/4 mile mark..those Rushes are quick out off the line....my buddies 1200 doo ran great (he'd give me a good run..dead even to 60).....but then i'd pull away on top pretty easily (80 MPH on).
I did average between 13.1 to 15.3 mpg...which I figured was about right.
Over all I am very pleased with this sled. It's fast, gets fuel decent mileage...and is a joy to ride on rough trails.

10 years old now and still the best sled on the snow short of off trail deep play. Ive had 4 apex and 2 attack and miss them all. My Viper is a monster but for a stock sled the Apex takes the cake.

Absolutely how I feel about my new 2015 ape xtx,it now has 577 hard miles and is really starting to show its real color, bottom, mid and even top speed is starting to all come togeather now, after this up coming weekend I should have around 1000 miles on it,and I am still playing with the set up a tad,but like you said,it takes the bumps much better than I would of thought, not quite as good as my 13 turbo procross, but darn close and the ride is in some respects better, the handling is a tad off,but I may be closing in on that one too.We put on just over 400 miles in 4 days...in the YOOP and Northern Wisconsin...all I can say is..I LOVE this sled...this is easily the best handling, easiest steering apex I have ever ridden...the rear skid does take some getting used to....but it works very well...As I mentioned before..I can push this through rough stuff at speeds that I would dare try on my attak.

So I just bought a 2011 xtx with 500 miles on it last weekend. The suspension seems very stiff in th rear. Any tricks you guys are aware of or do these ones needs revalved? I'm just starting to look on here for any advice and noticed this thread.

If you are used to a mono or a softer suspension ...it does seem stiff...it doesn't stroke through its travel much, and isn't great on stutter bumps...this is a much more aggressive set up...it will hammer through much rougher stuff than any mono set-up...I have gotten used to mine, and actually like it, now that I have more miles on it...just takes some getting used to...it's different. ..not bad....just don't expect it to be a plush ride...you will need to spend some money on shock revalving, different springs etc...to accomplish that.
There are many aftermarket options...I know guys have taken shocks and springs out of ventures, and get a softer more plush ride..but imo...that sorta defeats the purpose of the xtx...it is the apex for a more aggressive rider...people who want a softer, more plush ride should buy a standard apex.

I also think my xtx handles almost as flat and as good as my f1000...again the ride isn't as plush...but this thing would kick that cats #*$&@ bad (from bottom to top )...I am grinning everytime I hit the gas...man did I miss that 4 cylinder growl...it's nasty, and mean...love it...this motor is so addictive....I love it when some yamaha critic starts talking smack (the weight..the engine braking, darting etc)..I know damn well they haven't driven an eps equipped apex with exup..any of my friends who have ridden it love it...it's funny what they say when they come back...usually. ..the motor blows them away, and the eps impresses them...especially if they had ridden an older style apex and didn't like it...yes..the 2011 and newer apex's are that much better.Absolutely how I feel about my new 2015 ape xtx,it now has 577 hard miles and is really starting to show its real color, bottom, mid and even top speed is starting to all come togeather now, after this up coming weekend I should have around 1000 miles on it,and I am still playing with the set up a tad,but like you said,it takes the bumps much better than I would of thought, not quite as good as my 13 turbo procross, but darn close and the ride is in some respects better, the handling is a tad off,but I may be closing in on that one too.

I put almost 8000 miles on my 07 attak. Love the motor. Was debating switching to skidoo but 60-80 hp for the sleds I was looking at just seemed like I was trading to an old indy 340. When this sled came up for the price I had to snag it but I got spoiled with my m10 going over the bumps was nothing.

The nice thing about riding with all apes is you can do a direct comparison,my old gt works well and is all hygeared out, still no comparison,my buds 06 attack same thing, except,I let him take my xtx back to camp, about 30 miles of the twistiest trails around,as soon as I started my first turn,i said man what a mistake doing this swap lol,he also has his limiters as tight as they go,transfer set to min,and simmons skis with aggressive carbides,so it brought back fond memories of hard steering apex/attacks ha ha...I also think my xtx handles almost as flat and as good as my f1000...again the ride isn't as plush...but this thing would kick that cats #*$&@ bad (from bottom to top )...I am grinning everytime I hit the gas...man did I miss that 4 cylinder growl...it's nasty, and mean...love it...this motor is so addictive....I love it when some yamaha critic starts talking smack (the weight..the engine braking, darting etc)..I know damn well they haven't driven an eps equipped apex with exup..any of my friends who have ridden it love it...it's funny what they say when they come back...usually. ..the motor blows them away, and the eps impresses them...especially if they had ridden an older style apex and didn't like it...yes..the 2011 and newer apex's are that much better.

I have mine set up as soft as it can go,torsions springs full soft, tranfer rods set for almost full transfer.than set the front skid coilover shock,as lose as you can go,and give that a try,if the skis come up,tighten up the front limiter straps. So I just bought a 2011 xtx with 500 miles on it last weekend.
