Planning a first time trip to the UP in early March. Kids are home for Spring Break and we need advice on where to stay. Coming from central MN and looking at Lake Gogebic/Silver City area.

Ajs Walleye lodge right on Gogebic... newer owners that have been making improvements on the place since they bought it last year... the new beds are very comfortable... most of their units have a kitchenette or better... Both the Hoop & Holler and the Root Cellar have great food... Both are right across the lake too... Make sure to get up to Lake of the Cloulds and don't forget your camara!!!

Silver City is very small and doesn't have much to offer other then the big hotel and restaurant... The lot is always packed with sleds and trailers... so imagine having to ride with all that traffic on one trail as opposed to the many trails that lead away from Gogebic...

I ride the Western U.P. a lot and post my trips for everyone to enjoy... Click on my thread below and go from there... They might help you plan a few routes and what not ;)
