I am wondering what everyone is doing to their Apex to help wake them up a little. Clutch kits, exhaust swap out, any fuel controller. I wont have the time to drive it this year as the snow is finished here in Nova Scotia. What I want to be able to do is go by my buddy with a 800 renegade. Or will it go by it stock. I see a couple of guys are using the Ulmer clutch kits. This sled is now paid for so I will have some funds to play with over the summer.

I rode polaris for the last nine years. This is the first Yamaha for me. Cant wait.

Thanks
Matt

If it's new, just put miles on to loosen it up. You will beat him stock once broke in.

The Ulmer clutch kit rocks! However just putting about a thousand miles on the sled makes a huge difference. They really wake up after about a thousand miles. You will definately notice the difference.

As stated, I takes 1,000 mi to get to the point of being real competitive. Then i suggest calling Ulmer racing and get the air box mod, Ignition Module and PC-111. Then ask Allan how to setup the stock clutching up for the mod's. This is an awesome trail setup. On my Attak it was 3 to 4 sled's in 600ft over stock and just keeps pulling away with much crisper throttle response. It could probably be done when new and is all easily unplugged if needed for warranty work. I bought the whole lower half of the air box from Allan so i have my stock one if needed. kviper
