I read a post on a different forum that over time the shafts on the FLOATS can become pitted or dinged and the poster suggested putting shock bags on to prevent this. I also see that FOX makes a hard plastic guard that hose clamps on the bottom of the shock and covers the forward portion of the shock to protect it. Just wondering what would be better??? I don't feel the shock bags would do much to prevent dings but could be wrong. Has anyone used the hard plastic guards??? What do you think of them? Thanks

I think I saw the guards for sale somewhere, But I'm not sure what they really protect either. The Fox Floats are not like a conventional shock, as you cannot even see the shock shaft. (usually what needs protected)

I really LIke My Shock plastic guards. THe only problem is that they tend to hold Snow witch then turns into ice. But i did notice Scratches on my Shocks from tree limbs from riding of trail No more now that i have the Guards

You can not go wrong with the sled solutions shock covers. I have used them for the last 2 years and they are absolutely perfect with zero issues.

The plastic covers work real well. Had them since day one. Cheap insurance IMO, something like 20 bucks for them.

You have any pics of these lucky_7? Do these only fit over the Floats?

I don't have any real good pics of just the shock covers. You can see them a bit in my avatar. Yes, they fit right over the floats and do not hold any snow build up.

im not to big on the bag covers, the guards would b better i think because the bags r just a soft material and the guards r plastic
