Ordered oilites and UP Bushman's kit. Hoping to eliminate this (ski bolt was loose from hacking up the spacers from pilots).

Does this need balljoints too?

cant tell if it needs ball joints from the vid. def needs oilite bushings in the control arms and ski bushings. if you pull up on the spindle is thier any movement of the ball inside the joint. That thing mustve been scary to ride!! GL with the replacements

I did the same thing last month lol and mine was just as bad.
I did the oilite bushings in the arms and also did a custom ski bolt bushing setup (similar to UP Bushmans.)
My ball joints have a bit of play but things are tight enough for me right now. I was too cheap to throw another 200+ bucks towards ball joints.
You should be happy with just those 2 upgrades. Be sure to loctite all the bolts in the subframe on re-assembly.

They stopped the darting, but I had a problem with them pushing in loose snow. So I switched back to the stock skis with dual runners.

How many miles on that sled in the video?
I just did my old nytro the other week, it had 5200 miles on all the original parts. Oilite a-arm bushings, ball joints (oem) and Bushman's kit. The ball joints were definitely loose...but could have probably made it another season. I didn't want to take it all back apart in the middle of the season if we ended up with a 4k mile season tho.
Its sooooo tight now, I didn't know a front end could get so tight!

You'll be able to tell if the ball joints are wore easier after you remove the a-arms. But I would think you could make it closer to 5k pretty easy. Unless those 08 ball joints are more junky than my 09s.

08s were more junky - And with that, Canadians did you get free replacements?
And was it a one time thing?
I've read that they were improved each year, up until 2010 atleast (old thread)
If I'm going to replace mine, what year ball joints should I ask for, that fit an 08 and last the longest?
