Just picked up my new 2007 Attak. Wow! I love everything about it. I am coming off of a Cat ZR 700. Some buddies and I are hitting the lake tomorrow.

Does everyone follow the "recommended" break-in procedure? I don't plan on holding it to the pin all day long, but I would certainly like to SPANK some of my 4-stroke bashing friends on their 2 strokes. For the most part I am going to be riding around varing RPM but will it really hurt to open her up a little?

How many people have had issues with fouling plugs? My dealer told me to stop thinking like a 2 stroke owner, but I can't help worrying about accessing the plugs to change, it ain't going to happen on the trail.

Thanks for the help and info. This site rocks!

Fouling plugs should be a thing of the past for you. I did however have a set of cr10ek's that woul dn't fire up this fall. They were in it all last season, but Im pretty sure some of my employees were starting my sled througout the summer. Just make sure you put it away properly, and you'll have no problems.
Welcome to the site!!! If you haven't been reading posts on this site for very long, go back through many of the older pages of posts. This season is early yet, and last seasons posts had tons of great information.
Everyone is here to help, don't hesitate to ask!!!

tttario, Try not to start it up for 10 seconds to let your buddies here the sound. If you want to do that then, let it run for about 5 mins, because if you don't that's how you will foul a plug. You kind of have to let it go through it's warm up cycle. I have 2300 miles on my GT and I have never fouled a plug. Take it easy for the first 30 miles (under 8000 Varing the throttle) RPM. Then start doing WFO blasts but don't hold it more than 8 seconds. Once you hit 300 miles then hold it wide open all day long. The key to breaking it in , is DON'T LET IT OVER HEAT. So make sure there is plenty of snow, where your are.

On another note, I believe I was there talking to Steve when you and your budy picked up your sleds, I was getting a new belt for mine. Black diesel truck and trailer, with two Attacks and One Blue, One Black?

Ya that was me. They are really good to deal with there. I'll take it easy for the first bit, thanks. I'll make sure I run it for a while before shutting off, thanks again!

Ditto what sledfresk said. That's the way I broke mine in and I have no problems. I go all winter and never have to add oil. :4STroke: Sled maybe loses 1/3 quart in 2500 miles. Yamaha oil (0w-30)every change for me. Make sure you change the oil by 500 miles the first time. :yam:
Happy sleding. :jump:
