Garmin Oregon 400T

How's the Nuvi 500 doing for you on the snow?

Did you mount it on the handlebar pad with velcro?

BR

Yup, got the Oregon 400t. So far it's been great. Just figuring out how to use it still. Not that it's complicated but I'm totally new to the GPS thing so just geting used to it is all. We were out ridding in -16*F a few weekends ago and while the rechargeable batteries didn't get the life we typically got on warmer days, the unit itself funtioned fine. I should say that the unit was placed inside a coat but between the coat and a Tek Vest so as many know it's not really warmed by body heat at all. The large screen is nice and I could scroll the screen around with my gloves on (Klim thin ones) no problem. Also have the V.V. Mapping which, for Michigan anyway, I highly recomend.

Works very nice coldone. It is hard not to watch it while your riding with the bigger screen. I bought a ram mount from www.mountguys.com and just drilled into the riser block. Plug in the cord into the power outlet and can't imagine not having it. Works under bridges and in heavy treed areas. Bought the micro sd card from www.vvmapping.com ;)!

What map (sd card) did you buy?

I ride all of the U.P. Forrest roads, trails & Northern Wi. some.

Michigan maps from vvmap covers upper and lower. I ride around the Waters area and with both maps on it shows me the pipelines, forest roads and some privite roads. I don't know about northern WI
