Gas Gauge question.

I recently put a trail tank on my S.E. I adjusted my gas gauge float, but possibly not enough. Currently my sled is just about bone dry. When I fire up the sled, the gas light comes on but the gas gauge reads one bar. Does the gauge go any lower than one bar ? Should I just leave it as is?
