I'm having trouble loading some maps onto my GPS, and I really need them for tomorrow morning if possible.
I have an Garmin 276, and Garmin Mapsource topo maps, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to transfer maps onto the GPS. I have Ont maps on there that I need to get off to make room first, but I can't figure out how to do that either. I'm guessing I need to download a program that will allow me to access the GPS from the computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The software has to recognize your gps. Up top should be gaps symbol.
You have to select the maps. They should move over to the left side of the screen once selected.
Then transfer. I would give you more details but I am on my iPad and the software is on the computer at home.
If the software does not recognize your gps go to the garmin site to look for drivers.
Sorry but that's the best I can remember.

Use Garmin Mapsource to transfer your maps. You have to select all the maps you want to use and transfer them. It will overwrite the maps on your gps. Nod need to delete them off the gps beforehand.

Yeah, I must need some sort of driver, the mapsource is looking for a serial port, and my GPS connects through USB. I've got the maps selected, but when I try to load them on the GPS it keeps telling me the "GPS is not ready".

Do you have old versions of either Mapsource or your Topo map? Perhaps updating them is needed.
Try searching the Groundspeak forums, Lots of info there.

That's strange, the link works for me. Anyway, go to the website www.gpssledmaps.com and along the top of the page there is a tap that says "support" under that is "how to install". It walks you through step by step on how to move maps from Mapsource to your GPS.
