Just want to pass along some of the things I did to my '09 XTX. Getting it dialed in.

Ran the sled stock a few weeks ago. Stock skis with Bergstrom triple carbids and his 1/4" shim. The sled tracked well very little darting but still had heavy steering and still pushed some in the corners. And seemed to take more to allot of effort to corner well when riding hard.

This past week rode 350 miles in the UP. This past weeks set up was. Hygear tripple rate springs in the front skis set to their specs and Ski Doo 6.9 pilot skis.

Wow what a difference. The sled has way lighter steering and corners so so much better. On the hard pack and icy trail the sled feels planted in the corners and tracks great. You can really ride the sled hard and not require allot of body input. Very little of that twitchy ski lift when cornering. The tripple springs seemd to reduce some of that bouncy ride on the stutters. Huge improvement.

Rode some deep fluff in the woods and the sled floats real nice with those wide skis. There is some push in the deep fluff but I don't think the sled pushes any worst than other sled in the fluff.

The sled takes the strait line bumps and corner bumps great. Very little bottoming.

Here is my set up. I weigh about 220 lbs full gear.

Tripple rate springs on the fron skis, 6.9 pilot skis 6 " shaper bars in the middle, no carbids on the out side. Front ski shock compression clickers set 4 turns in from full soft. Rebound clickers set 8 turns in from full soft.

FR suspension spring is stock, haven't installed the dual rate spring yet. Loosened the FR spring approx. 25 quarter turns from the factory.

RR suspension shock. Full loose on the clicker and softest tortion spring setting.

Rear transfer nuts I turned in 3 full turns from factory to reduce the ski lift.

Also installed the tall windshield w side shields. The sled is warm ride in all temps.

Next is the new hand warmers.

Just wanted to pass this along for any one's reference.

The sled is a hoot to ride. Major fun factor.

Awesome, thanks for the info.... What did you use to mount the 6.9 pilots?

I used some left over rubbers from my USI X2s. They fit ok but had to add a plastic spacer under the rubber to take up the slack. Then I used the spacer and bolt hardware fron the X2's but had to cut about a 1/4" of one of the spacers to fit inside the ski. I heard the ski doo rubbers work but need to be trimmed. I am going to order a set of those and try them out also.

Did you ever try to adjust the stock springs to see how it makes it react or did you just the swap the stock springs out for the hygear configuration and adjust from there?

I adjusted the stock ski springs all the way loose to where they almost loose in the collars. The sled did good with the stock prings but still had a firm bouncy ride on the stutters and some ski lift in the corners.

What is nice about the tripple rate springs is they lower the sled about an inch and really gives the sled a planted feel around the corners where both skis are on the ground. I adjusted the shock clickers to where the sled takes the big bumps good with not much rebound.
