Just an observation....I see alot of folks...have both positive and negative opinions on certain products they have tried on their sleds. I have had the same experiences too....things that have worked for others haven't worked the same for me. Everybody rides differently, and expects different things from their machines.
I post my opinions to try and help folks get an idea on what products they would like to try....and that is why I love this site. I mean no offense to anybody if my opinion differs from yours on product.
I think you really have to be honest with how you ride and where you ride...and WHAT your core expectations are.
For example:
I have had great luck with my Ulmer stage two clutch kit...it made my mid range acceleration much better, over stock...and the back shifting (corner to corner) is awesome...I love that product...I have raced many stock apexes, and other stock attaks and cleaned their clocks (4-6 sled lengths in quarter miles races)....longer races...(1/2 mile or more)...the stock sleds will slowly creep up on me and pass me.
If you are a top speed person...the ulmer kit may not be for you.
Curve Skis...Good looking product...work far better than stock ski's in loose snow...However...they do dart in certain conditions...Didn't mean to trash them..just posted my experience....and got hammered for it...lol...I still believe the average trail cruiser (that mainly rides trails, at moderate speeds) would be better off with dually's....aggressive guys will love the curves, and hate the dually's...you have to ask yourself...what type of rider are you?? (be honest)
and finally...another example some of you can relate to.
I had a friend put a cobra track, M-10 suspension, dually's, and an ulmer stage II kit on his attak....and I kick his butt on the lake...it's not close. On rough trails, he leaves me in the dust...his machine rides, and handles so much better it's sick...in loose snow/deeper snow on forest service roads...that cobra works awesome.
However...he is pissed that I can smoke him on the lake...he's nearly 10 MPH slower than me on radar... I told him he needed to do some clutching work for one thing because his rpm was too low, and to call Allen...also...the m-10 while it does ride nice (when set-up properly)..is not a good lake racer suspension...almost everybody with m-10's, lose top end...and the cobra.. while it's far better in loose .. snow...also scrubs some top speed....and finally...the dually's also scrub top speed...EVERYTHING YOU DO TO A SLED HAS A TRADE OFF....I told him I really liked his set-up...he has good traction, excellent ride, and very little darting...just not as fast as he would like. He has the money...so I said...just supercharge it...and be done with it...but again that's an example of somebody not understanding the trade off involved with certain products, or being honest with his core values as a rider.
I just wanted to throw this out there, and hopefully it helps you guys think about how you ride, and what you value or expect out of a sled or product.
Hopefully we get some snow soon to ride....and Merry Xmas!!!

Everything I've done to my sled has been done for rough trail corner to corner, field racing. I knew my trade offs when I built my sled. But as I don't see lakes ( except Chautauqua sometimes ). So my setup makes for sense to my type of terrain riding. If I had the money I would definatly supercharge it. But as it sits now I can hit 116 in long fields and fire roads on the dream meter of course
