How do all you SE owners feel special ordering the 09 SE in april only to see it offered as a 2010 model
I think it sucks because ordering it at full retail because everyone said it would come with all the extras not offered in another sled.
Sled came in 2 months late after arguing with Yamaha several times.
I Like my sled but I will never order a "special" ever again, I was told the pitch that its a special model so it's worth the extra money. I know the $600 accesory credit and the three more years warrantee is worth something. They haven't released this years power surge program yet and the way money is right now i'm sure its going to be " DITO"

I saw a new '09 SE advertised for sale in a flyer from a Yamaha dealer (here in Alaska). I thought that was kind of funny because they weren't supposed to be available unless you ordered one in the spring.

That is NEVER the case. The Summit XP Hillclimb and AC Hillclimb sleds were both suppose to be spring order only or for racers and there are a few dealers selling them to the public now. Anyone who buys a spring order thinking they're the only ones getting them are suckers...happens every year with all the brands.
Outside of North America the SE was a regular model in the lineup. No spring orders here.

Couple of Swedish dealers seem to have the SE in stock and they can sell them to anybody that wants one. That does not feel right, because last spring they told me if I wanted one, I had to sign a contract no later than 15th of June. So I did and I also got one, but now it seems like everybody can get this so called "limited edition" model. I guess no more "spring orders" for me...EsonPZ said:Outside of North America the SE was a regular model in the lineup. No spring orders here.

Yeh it's funny how the Pitch sells. Dealers bring in a few extras in their names.

Ah well, we had that exclusivity of having one for a season. I can't believe how many other riders I met on the trails would ask me questions about my sled...I felt special.
I guess that due to the popularity of the SE, it was an easy, and smart choice for Yamaha to offer it again...better than a Fusion 900 right?
If someone buys a 2010 SE this year, I feel alright about it as the MSRP of the new 2010 is $1500 more than last year.

Dealers usally use family or friend names to get extra snow check sleds in if they think the sleds will sell. Or people back out of the deal after they order the sleds. I bet the later happened alot this year with the way jobs are disapearing across the county.

2009 MSRP is $11599
Why do you say there is a $1500 dollar difference?
Is there that much of a difference in Canada?

To me as soon as I picked up my S.E. from the dealer I along with others in my riding group, knew that it would be available in 2010 as a regular model. Anyone who thought otherwise was kidding themselves about how production works. The sled is well worth the extra few hundred bucks and as stated we (the buyers) had a year of being exclusive to a point. Same thing here, everyone looks and askes me how I like it, etc, etc. I'm happy to see that the only real change to the S.E. appears to be different wheels (which I've already changed) and different grips. To me that tells me that Yamaha, and apparently there developement team feels they got it right in 09'.
As for 2010's I think the Mtn guys were overdo for some great improvements. If I was in an area that I could ride one, a 162 S.E. would really be my choice no doubt.
My guess is that Yamaha released the S.E. to see how the public would react to a special order type sled. It garanteed a number of sales and thus there wouldn't be ten of them on the floor in March. Now that they know the demand and the reaction I think we can probably expect this type of event again next year, providing a new release is available.

I love it. I will probably try some revalving just to improve on the already nice setup. The adjustability is great, just have to set clickers to whatever the trails require and go. If it's set up for rough stuff it will be a bit stiff in the stutters but that's what I would expect. The only issue is dialing it in. I never felt I couldn't ride it but it's just a matter of continually improving on what I already have.

The above prices are correct. Yamaha hiked up all the MSRP on all sleds and parts on the first of January. It was an average of about $1000 per sled.
While the price I paid was quite a bit lower than MSRP with all the incentives applied, I'm sure Americans didn't pay the MSRP either.
