Well the good news is I think I have my sled dialed in finally, after 2 years of timkering my 03 is doing everything I could hope for, Monday a friend and I spent 8 hrs cruising THE county in Northern Maine. We did railroad beds, big winding trails and some tight and twisty. One RR bed had a lot of use over the weekend and was loaded with bumps, I had just come off of the trail ahead of it which had been groomed and did not expect the chewed up trail and was well into the bumps with the sled over 80, it never became uncomfortable or erattic, it just behaved like magic. I would have thought the trail to have been much better then it was.
My buddy couldn't believe it , it just went straight and sucked up that trail. He thought I couldn't be having to much fun with a sled that behaved so well, he thought it took the challenge away.
On another subject I just changed the scondary helix and it really worked great a very smooth and fast upshift and a lightning fast backshift. Dano I remember you asking what it was and how I liked it. It is a 47/43 you can get on at Woody's in Topsham or from Bruce at pioneer Performance. stock is 51/43. My weights are stock and I have a green white green primary, the secondary spring is stock and on this Helix set at 6 and 1.my other mods are maximum front springs pioneer 12mm sway bar, and the longer links from Yamaha plus 136 9834 1.25 track on full rails with Ohlin's shock on both ends of the skid, also put on rx1 MTn handlebars, they are 2 inches taller and 1 inch narrower the the stock shorty handlebars. And before I forget it corners on rails with the stock skis, can now keep up with my son on his Rev for as long as I want.( which isn't that long)Also got to use my new tank bag , it was a great addition, very handy. I am very happy.

How are your Ohlins setup? Springs & rear clicker? And fra? How much do you weigh?

Ditto  I have an Ohlins coming for the rear. The secondary setup sounds very very eenterestingk. Have to try it someday.

rear set up

Hi Buckeye, my Ohlin's at the front of the skid is straight from Yamaha, has no preload and has a straght rate spring,is not a clicker and does not have an external reservoir. The original 03 center spring isa multi-rate spring 160lbd/280lbs, this years warrior's center shock spring is 130lbs/240lbs, I think the Ohlin's is 150lbs.
The Ohlin"s shock n the rear of the skid came from BRUCE at Pioneer Performance, he sends a spring with the shock that matches your weight more closely mine is a 200lb straight rate, it has an external reservoir and is a clicker, I have it set to soft. the03 stock spring is a multi rate spring 200lbs/290lbs, the warrrior stock rear is 130lbs/240lbs, with the stock springs you can jump this sled and hardly move the suspension but it never rode well for me.
I have the FRA set to softest setting.
I had the Ohlin's rear shock in the sled when it was still a shorty, it immediatly helped the sled in the corners.
I had the stock center shock in the skid when I installed the 136 it still rode like a rock, I almost tried a lighter spring but was afraid it might disappoint me so I went for the Ohlin's when I told my dealer that I was going to order one he matched Bruce's price and I didn't have to pay shipping.
I weight just over 200lbs with all my gear.
In the stable 03 Rx1 136, 03 REV 600 HO, 03 REV440, 02 Mtn Max 700

Ohlin settins

Did you change the spring settings? I loosened the center shock spring all the way and then tightened the straps to about an inch of thread left. I have my fra at max. I got the rear from pioneer and left the spring alone. I just switched to the 136" and will be trying tomorrow.

rear skid

No I didn't touch the springs, I forgot to mention I did change the spacer on the transfer rods, and have the gap set up 60/ 40, also I turned the the adjuster nuts up two threads, when I hit the throttle, it just lifts the skis a little and holds them right there.
I can't remember how much thread I have showing on thee bolts that hold my straps up , but I wil check in the morning.
