mine is a stock 06 attak, 162 studs and doo extroverts. i have a race coming up with an 06 mach
(studded hacksaw, stock motor and pipe, at minimum it will be clutched, maybe more?) and an 05 zr900efi sno pro
(stock, but it has long legs!) probably some long drags (1000'min) and hauling across lake gogebic. i dont think they will get me on the bottom, im more worried about 60mph on up. i dont have money for nitrous yet, but i plan on getting a boondocker kit. i can swing the boondocker box for now, will that help much? any other suggestions that wont cost a ton?

The 05 ZR, should not be your Problem. The mach if is running right, will be your problem, especially across the lake. Machine your clutches and helix for the overdrive (200.00 bucks) and maybe throw a RAM Air KIT at it. (300.00 bucks) Make it 2000ft or less and you might have a chance. Other than that, Pray to God and ask for forgiveness, because you are going to need it.

Throw as much weight to your tips as you can get,now they come stock with 4.5gm rivets, drill it out and add something that weighs a few gms more,we are running some stock weights at 88 grms, with g/w/g/spring with two 3mm engagement washers,it does have an effect on total shift force you will need around 150lbs total force, just the spring is 136,go get a yammi silver secondary wrap it at 80 to start cut your hub on your stock 51/43 helix and you will haul the mail on the other end, dont worrie what your rpms read just check that your clutchs are cool to the touch.n2oiroc said:mine is a stock 06 attak, 162 studs and doo extroverts. i have a race coming up with an 06 mach(studded hacksaw, stock motor and pipe, at minimum it will be clutched, maybe more?) and an 05 zr900efi sno pro

Wow,
That's a lot of work. I don't think the Boondocker controller will help much. Maybe set fuel adjustment on that controller to -2 at the top two settings. Apex runs a hair rich in the upper RPMs.
I'd add about 40 more studs. You get him out of the hole and you'll beat him in a 1000 feet.
Ask user: RTXs. He beat up some mach's but needed a rolling start.
Me on the otherhand... I

I dont think there is any way you will beat the mach Z.. on top end..
THe Zr900 should be close .. with giving a slight edge to you in the first 500 feet..
The Zr900 has the same topend as the Apex.. but seems to lack midrange torque..
