I heard there are some GPS models out there that work with sleds and trails. Is this true? If so any good suggestions? Also how good does the handlebar mount work for one of these? Didn't know how well they hold on the trails, or if you have to store it til you get to a corner or tee section, then look. Thanks for the input.

Handle bar mount is good - RAM Mounts. Lots of other creative TY member mounts in the GPS section.
Nuvi s are NOT good for off roading and no track logs. Vista HCx is a good choice for bang for the $.
Or GPS Map 60CSx more $ - bigger screen size (altho almost same pixel count).
Also look up RWS on Hardcoresledder for free map downloads he makes. And GPSSLEDMAPS.com (I hope its OK to post those). I believe there are more map downloads available for Garmin than any others including Magellan.
FREE trail maps plus Garmin CITY NAVIGATOR point of interest software and you'll never be really lost.

I have a garmin legend. I mounted it on the blank spot on the left side of my gauges with a ram mount on my warrior. I also put a DC outlet to plug it in with. Garmin has their mapsource topo software that I installed and it is great. I normally go on a trip to northern wisconsin, "Bayfield area", and the software has all the fireroads marked on it. It really helps when you are fireroad riding. I love having it on the sled. I hope you do too.
