well yesterday i decided to grease my rear suspension on my 06 vector (has mono shock obiviously) and when i went to greae it almost no greae came out the bushing, it all came out of the zerk fitting, not the nipple thing, but on te shafts on the other side where they tack welded it :die :die :die , i would like to know what yamaha was thinking. does any of your sleds do that? thanks

Yes it appears to be a common problem. Many have cleaned around the zerk, applied JB Weld to the joint and no more leaky zerk fittings.

i had thought of using that jb weld but i dont know if it will work on paint, if i was to use it would i have to remove the paint, now this is my 3rd problem with my sled that ive not even rode yet, but will be in under 2 weeks now

I simply used a small piece of sand paper to scuff off the paint around the nipple....cleaned the area and applied JB Weld all the way around and Vola......no more grease leak.

jb weld

JB weld is right up there on my list of the all time greatest inventions along with wd-40, duct tape, and zipties. ;)! ;)!

I had the same problem with mine, would have been nice if they were tapped with threaded zerks. Cheap #*$&@ assembly practice I did not expect from Yamaha!!!!! :o|
