I am wondering how the 2011s are (any model of nytro). Has Yamaha dealt with some of the past issues?

Are the hand warmers warm?
Are you burning thru sliders?
Any suspension bolts coming loose?
Any bent subframes?
Starter solenoid freezing up?
Fuel relay freezing up?

Thanks for any feedback

I have a 2010 FX Nytro MTX SE 153. Handwarmers are 1000% warmer than my 08 RTX stockers were, and about the same level of heat as the RSI warmers that I put on my 08 RTX to replace the junk stockers. Can't say I'm having slider issues as I never had any issues with either sled so far, even with the 2.25" lugs on the MTX, no slider issues so far. Nothing came loose on either sled for me unless it was my own fault and I forgot to locktite, stupid me :o| No bent subframe on my MTX SE, everything looks MINT like day one ! Nothing froze up either, and I've had it up over the headlight in powder, and that goes for both Nytros. I can only guess that the 11's are better than the 08's and 09's for sure, but the 10's should be no different than the 11's from my limited experience. Hope that helps ;)!

Revster,

My handwarmers seem to work very well and they do get hot...it just takes them awhile to get hot but they do get hot. They are def better than my Apex.

I have over 1,200 miles on the slides and they look great for the most part but...we have had good snow this season.

I ride pretty damn hard and she isnt bent up yet...

No bolts coming loose but I do keep checking them to make sure.

Solenoid/relay...while on a trip my sled sat outside each night and it was down right cold. I didnt have any issues at all with relays. I believe I read on here that the relay's were changed for the better on the 11's.

I noticed that the part #'s for the starter, fuel pump, headlight, and rad relays are all different from the '10. The picture also looks different in the online fiche. I plan to order some and compare. I read somewhere that they were weatherproofed in the '11's.

I bought new starter and fuel relays. the starter one really didn't LOOK different however the fuel one did. It had a 17 on it vs a 11 on the old one. ...and there were no side clips on it. (so at least it's easier to pull out and warm up!) New one was also black and old was dark grey but it might have just been faded.

2011 Nytro XTX with 3100 mi as of this post:
Hand warmers work great
Original sliders went 1900 mi (could have easily gone 2000 mi)
Right upper ball joint nut/bolt came out at approx 1400 mi. No other susp bolts have become loose front or rear
No bent subframe
No starter solenoid or relays freezing up

The starter relay got updated for 2011.I was told it wouldn't work on the 2010 and earlier models though.

Good to know. I will stick with the '10 version. I have not had any issues with the starter yet. I did have the FI relay freeze on me. Since relocating them up high I haven't had any issues.

Here's a story.
I put a new stator in my 09.
Under load original stator was soft charging around 11.7v now the new one is around 13.5v
Everything worked and I never got error codes with the low voltage stator.
Although my original battery was problematic and didn't live a long life.
Anyway...
My hand warmers seem much warmer this year.

2011 Nytro MTX 162, havent experienced any of the problems listed.. ;)

I am running a '10 and my buddy has an '11. Don't see much in the way of changes, but like most owners, the front solenoids/relays are definitely an issue and I can't see that its been fixed in the '11's.
Like most other riders, I had one of those epic powder days followed by a -28 dec C night. Got up the next morning and crossed my fingers when I hit the ignition and voila it started! LEt it warm up for 15 minutes, and then shut if off for maybe 10 minutes. Went back outside and poof...no fuel pump.

Fortunately, a bit of hot water over the solenoids (2 litres) and a 2 minute wait and it fired right up.

One thing I noticed is that on the prior day my handlebar warmers were sketchy, and it was a relatively warm day (-8 deg C). But after the hot water over the relays, and riding on a much colder -28 day, they were working perfect.

I suspect the relay problem may be an issue for more than just fuel pump (although I havent checked this out yet)

Did I read on this post that REVSTER relocated these relays from the front under the airbox to somewhere else? If its true, could somebody point me to that post?

Thanks, and sorry for the hijack.

Off Trail Mike

I have a 2011 mtx, handwarmers don't work,on the 3rd set of sliders in 1700 km.I have had no fuel or elec issues (yet),sub frame is ok.

A.O.K.

2011 XTX w/236 miles. Hand warmers are right on. Slide wear is average (Will probably go 2000+ miles ) No starter relay issues (Didn't have any on my previous 2008 either) No subframe damage, No loose bolts, Still has same shitty stock skid plate design for more info on that see the following post ( http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... ight=motor ) Handling seems good but I think it could be better, No fuel relay issues, Shocks need to be valved a little stiffer. I'd give her an 8 out of 10.
