So whats the general consensus out there? Are we going to see more Horsepower for 05. Maybe a slightly detuned engine used in the new R-1?
Something that turns about 11,000 rpms and produces around 160 H.P. That would be sweet!

Personally, I don't believe Yamaha will make any major upgrades until somebody eles produces an inline four stroke to compete with the RX. Although, if polaris produces a machine with the 150 H.P. 750cc turbo that might make yamaha scramble a little.

2005 will be an interesting year for snowmobiles. I think there's going to be a lot of big horsepower machines coming out. I just hope yamaha doesn't fall behind.

Yamaha has made a new motor (maybe just overbored) R1 motor for the watercraft line. The 03 FX140 watercraft had the same motor as the RX1 but with EFI. Next year Yamaha is offering a FX HO (high output) this "new" motor is 1062cc and puts out 160 hp. I would like to see this motor with EFI make it into the snowmobile line up for next year.

IMO;
- RX series will get fuel injection
- Viper will get more HP
- A/C ZR chassis will get a 4 stroke (a big one)
- I thought Polaris would have their twin out by now
