I would appreciate reccomendations for gauntlets that people have installed on their Viper that allow unencumbered access to controls and that stay secure. Not interested in dumbo ears on plastic hand guards. Thanks

I use my AC gauntlets. They are very warm. Easy slid on and off.

I have very inexpensive gauntlets on mine. They merely velcro are pound the handle bars on the one end. Works great, easy access and does not interfere with any of my controls. I barely use hand warmers and only wear thin gloves.

Mine are from moose products. They have larger openings to get hands in and out quickly.

For me Cold Guards are the ticket.

They block all the wind, yet provide easy access controls and bars.

No more cold hand period.

x2 on the Coldguards. Easy to put on and off, fit around most hand guards and lay flat and take up minimal space If if you store them in your sled bag

Powermadd guantlet s on my wife's viper. She loves them and won't ride without them. Easy access to controls. You do have to run the handguards with them as that's what they mount to.

I have the Yamaha version of the skinz hand guards/protectors on my SideWinder. I usually just wear thin gloves. Also, have them on the Vector, and actual skinz on the Apex.

Frozen what version do have the standard or the deluxe? Also looks like you have a bracket of some sort that I do not see on the website. I like these and want to make sure I get all the right parts.

Do they interfere with using the hooks on the handlbars?
Sorry for the late reply been on the road. Yes you can still use the hooks, plenty of room inside.

Mine are the deluxe hook grip. Only difference, standard vs deluxe, is the colored piping. Many colors to choose from.

Be aware that the Cold Guards are not a solid, bolt on, application. The Velcro, with the anti-skid material, holds them pretty good. But they still will move a little. Also, the plastic tube, that holds them open, is not installed for shipping purposes. You'll have to fish it in. Be patient and don't rush it. Takes a little fiddling, but very worth it.

The Cold Guards are fairly stable with the Velcro straps provided. I made them even more stable with the Arctic Cat nylon hand guard mounts since I leave them on all the time.

I pierced the Cold Guard, and used a small automotive push fastener to secure.

I used a small dab of super glue to secure the fastener to the Cold Guard and seal the edges that I pierced.

And there you go.

The parking brake can not be accessed with the Cold Guards installed. However I never really tried to make it accessible. Not sure what the brake is for other than burning belts when you forget to take it off!:o|

I have not had cold hands since these were installed.

They are flexible enough to stand up at road crossings. They flex back once you sit down.
This entire set up will run about $85.00 when it's all said and done if I recall. Worth every penny.

I just bought a second set for my back up sled and my Fat Tire bike and my back up sled.
These will be mounted solely with the Velcro straps, which are very adequate.

Hope this helps.

I hate to say it but Ski Doo has an awesome set I put on my dates sled. They are Velcro on and off and have a push pin on the end that makes them rigid. There is also clear windows on the top to allow you to see the controls. One just has to use a little black paint to change out the logo . They are fur lined inside and even with fairly bulky gloves they work very well.
