Try an '08 for freeplay their worst than your '07, for some reason all the '08 have the steering column bearing extremly LOOSE, the 1 right above the exhaust, has anyone else noticed this...
I even checked a Vector and Venture, all the same all 2008's...lots of slack in the column area! DELTA chasis seems the worst.

guys,
we all found this to be SAME on all apexs....even from the very first ride its bad....
what I found is that the design of the steering arms adds alot of play to the entire system.....the combonation of freeplay at each transition added together equals alot of play at the bars unfortunately.
it used to bother me and I wanted to try to reduce it,but i find that its pretty normal with our sleds and you gotta just live with it....
there are some ways to reduce it,but not by any significant amount....so i wouldnt worry about it.

I tighten all mine up. Pull the seat, tank and get at the bushings. I take the steel bushing spacers and remove .015 off them. Then I take the plastic bushing and set them on a flat surface and use emery cloth to remove .0075 per bushing, two plastic bushings together add up to the .015 that you have taken off the steel bushing, and you now have tight steering. It makes them much nicer to ride. Don't take off anymore than that or the bars get hard to turn with stiction.
Mike, you have way too much time on your hands....
But we appreciate all the work and tips you give us.

Ijust did the bushing modification and it made a world of difference. There are three of the plastic bushings to do. two on the main stearing shaft going down from the handle bars and one by the oil tank.

If you think these sleds are bad you should try a cat with a few miles on it
