handlebar risers on a rage ?

anyone know how high i can go before the need of cable extensions. im looking to raise bars on a 07 rage gt. not too high, was thinking 4"
anyone using rox risers? do they slip? thanks

I have heard of guys putting a 4" on and no problems.
I put a 3" with a 15 degree angle on my 05 Rage and everything worked fine in the garage, no cable pulling when turned all the way in either direction.
Took it out for a ride to get a feel for it and on a 1mile straight woods road, and gave it a good WOT rip and the throttle got stuck. Hit the kill switch and turned it back on still WOT. Had to bail and let the sled eat some trees because of to much speed goinginto a corner at the end of the straight away in the road.
So be careful if you do put a riser on. Cables are cheap.

I put a 2" ROX pivoting riser on mine and any longer I would need extensions on the cables. They don't slip at all, even when rolled on.

Ditto, any taller and there are issues with turning to the stops.

I have a rage and put on the Rox 3.5inch riser. Sturdy with no slipping. I replaced the throttle cable to avoid a dangerous situation as stated above or issues with the tors system. Whole cable from a mountain vector was the same price as the extension. I did reroute my brake cable to give it some extra length near the coolant bottle. I would consider 2 inches as the maximum extension without new cables.\

I put a ROX 3.5 riser on my '06 Rage and all I did was relocate one of the cables to relieve some tightness of it. That was the parking brake cable.

I could not find a way to go any highier than 2" with the stock cables even after rerouting them. I had a 2" Rox pivot riser rotated forward on my Rage and I dont see how you guys can go with a 3.5" riser. I remember the brake hose being one of the bigggest issues.

I have since gone with a 5" Rox plus a 1" riser block with 07" Apex bars on my Rage. I replaced all of the cables with Vector Mountain ones and have plenty of slack. I never had any loosening issues with my 2" Rox and so far after 350 miles the same applies with the 5" Rox riser. I am real happy with this set up. G.B.

What they all said. ^ ^ ^ 2" max to be safe. Also as mentioned, cables are relatively cheap from the dealer so why mess with extensions? With my setup, I had to replace cables and brake hose but I just got Nytro stuff so it all matches.

Gone Blue, you just reminded me of the other thing that I had to reroute, the brake line. I knew there was 2 lines that I relocated. If you come up next week to Munising ask me and I will show you how I did mine.

I tried to reuse my original stuff at first. The first issue I had was the e brake started to apply on at full turn because the cable was too taunt.
