Handlebar warmers aren't hot

I have an 03' RX1 er shorty. Rode this weekend and put 75 miles on in Muskoka, Ontario. I noticed my hand warmers were not getting hot, just getting slightly warm, and my thumb warmer is ice cold! Anyone know what it could be? Sending unit maybe? They worked last year.
Any info would be appreciated.

By the way, if anyone rides in the Lake of Bays area, we rode the lake from Dorset to Haystack bay! Lots of ice!

If you were riding when it was -35 out, then it figures that it won't heat up. They don't make *that* much heat.

My 03 shorty had the same problem, they would randomly work. Took to dealer, and they worked. No problem since ????????????????????

I have ridden in the area.... How far is the Bay fro Dorset?

I have ridden Lake of Bays many times....but not sure of the names of the different bays?
