I want to order new skis for my Attak and can't decide which ones. I do about 50% off trail so I need something that floats really well. I'm scared of the C&A XT's. They may be to aggressive. The Slydog's interest me as do the Powder Pros. With the weight of these front ends and the way everybody is getting a snow bath even on Attak's, I'm not sure which way to go. Rich at Richmotorsports suggested the C&A Outlaws. I'm just concerned with only 6 inches of width. :o|
Any suggestions or past experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Yep, try these threads. I would also recommend getting some miles on the stock skis as none of us know how well the stockers will perform. The extra width of aftermarket skis really helped on the RX platform, but may not be the right choice on the Attak. I did read where one guy reported heavy steering and how you should be careful upgrading to an aggressive ski.

I had Powder Pros on my Warrior and they sure convinced me. Favorite ski by far. Others I've tried that I didn't care for C&A Advantage (not much better than stock) C&A Razr (very nice but not as good in powder as the Powder Pro's) and also some Doo Prec.'s (scary, never knew if it was going to turn on the trail or not)

Thanks for the info. I think I have nailed it down to two skis after reading all the previous threads. Powder pros or Yamaha Apex Mountain skis. I wish I could find out which one is wider. :rocks:

well, i just got back from kalkaska mi, put 225 miles on my attak yesterday and late friday night, friday night we took the sunset trail to the blue bear loop, and we were the first ones to break snow through the trail, around 16" to 18" of powder, it was great riding but i was covered in snow, and my buddy with an 800 rev was covered in snow too. i thought ide give the stock skis a shot but after my first ride i do believe i will be buying skis before a clutch kit or anything else. and studs

The Yamaha mountain skis are wider - I like them better than the powder pros - same performance in deep snow, and I think the yamaha skis don't catch an edge as easily as the PPs in crusty snow.
