I noticed that my ski runner had broken off on my last ride. Has anyone else had this same thing happen? Anyone have an idea what caused it to break off?

You talking about your carbides or wear bars? I've broken them off before...usually the front bolt will break and fold them around, spraying snow all over. Fun times.

The ski runnner is the little piece of hyfax type material, which holds the track off the center shock bolt. I replaced my runner prior to the season. The bolts are still in the bracket but no runner.

ski-runner

from the looks of the pics you may have over-tightened the bolts and squeezed the plastic too much and cracked it . causing it to fall off when the track hit it

I'm guessing the front edge is bent from the track clips? Either that or something large tried going through there....

YES.... mine came off to just one but the other one was almost gone to , get the 2010 ones they are made of harder materal . Call port yamaha got them in stock

I lost a second ski runner on the same side. I had straighten the posts and it lasted 450 miles. I don't see an issue with the track? Has anyone else had this problem?

For those track runners to wear that much in such little time shows that there is some issue in the suspension.

Time to take out the suspension and look for something that's broke/cracked/worn, ie. torque arms, axle, limiter strap, shock mounts, etc.

I think they are breaking. Dealer thinks something gets caught in it.

Once they are broke it rips the brackets up.

I had to replace mine annually, (2000-3000 miles) they wouldn't wear completely but as they get closer say beyond half way, the track hits the shock more. So I would just change them out along with donuts and bushings, and hi-fax, etc. I've only seen one missing on another sled, I think the track catches it and just rips it off. Loose track? Maybe a huge block of ice hits it just right and breaks it off?
