I drove my RS Venture for the first time this weekend & about 10 miles out, the check engine light came on. I stopped it & oil was leaking from underneath. I pulled the dipstick & it was nearly empty. Initially, I thought that it might be a loose oil filter or drain plug, but that wasn't the case.

To make a long story short, I found that the oil was leaking out of the airbox drain. It seems that oil was blowing through the hose from the sump tank through the check valve & into the air box. I took the check valve off & blew threw it (with my mouth) & it does take "some" pressure before it pops open, which makes me wonder if there was a piece of crap stuck in it, or if the check valve is bad.

Whadda ya think, am I on the right track or is there something else I should be looking for?

Ther are 2 hoses coming off of your air box. One drains moisture from your air box, the other one drains oil from the crank case vent back into the engine above the mag. cover. This hose must not be left off your air box or it will pour oil everwhere really fast.
