Done with this gong show.
Left hotel at 6:30 & got close to haydays by 6:50. Waited in line with the truck until 10:45 & finally parked 1.5 miles away. Many many people were in line for 4 plus hours & others had to walk over 5 miles.
There was 1 road going in & out.
After 10 years I think I am done.
It was the worlds biggest klusterfuk!!!

I'm glad i passed this year thanks for the great info Turk was feeling sad that i did not make but know i'm glad

Just got home and I will second Turk's comments. My buddy and I had just about the same experience getting in today. At least we got a bus ride afterwords so we didn't have to walk the 2.5 miles back to the truck.

On the bright side I got to meet some TY members that I've never met before along with some familiar faces.

Getting to the event however was FUBAR.

Wow, that sucks. You would think they would have planned for this amount of people. It is the biggest off season snowmobile event in the country, isnt it??

It was a giant mess!!!!
I was in my car 1.5 hours to move 2 miles(Better than most, GPS helped a ton).
I ended up parking on some county road with a 2.9 mile walk one way(GPS tracked).
The turn out for the group picture was smaller this year.
It was nice to see the old crew.
Some VERY nice guy in a white pickup truck saved me 1.5 of mile walk back to me car.

Seems to me a good palce would be Eagle River ,WI at the fairgrounds. Plenty of parking & hotels on grounds & near by.

Same experience here..........absolutely the worst planned event I have ever attended.

Yamadoo

I assume you didnt get your track either...

Man am I glad I did not go. I was thinking about going all week and at the last minute decided not too. I was skeptic about the new location. I had actually mapped out a different route anyways coming up from the Chisago Lakes area south to north but I am sure that was a mess too. They will have to rethink how they do things next year.

Anyone watch the racing? All Ski Doo and Cat I am guessing.........

Wow with my shot knees walking any distance is difficult! I can't be walking that far. One of the reasons I have second thoughts about haydays is my knees. I'm not sure if i can walk around haydays itself, never mind miles in and out.

I'm looking at one of those walkers on wheels with a chair built in so I can sit and rest my knees as being the only way I could ever think of doing the event. Either that or a Yami powered wheelchair.

Damn these knees of mine suck!

HAYDAYS NEVER EVER AGAIN WHAT A JOKE!!!!! IT TOOK ME 5 HOURS TO GET WITHIN 2.5 MILES AND HAD TO WALK FROM THERE. WHAT A BUNCH OF BS. SNO BARRONS DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE AND RUINED A GREAT EVENT!!!!!

I WOULD RATHER ATTEND 100 SMALL EVENTS HERE IN WISCONSIN. ONE GOOD THING WAS I DID FINALLY FIND THE TY BOOTH AND MEET MR SLED AND ROCK GREAT GUYS AND HOPE TO RIDE ON A TY RIDE THIS WINTER.

Man this sounds bad.. Dootalk members have the exact things to say too so i guess alot of future business is lost to haydays..

same as above...drove 4 hrs to get there, then sat another 2 1/2 hrs. then at 6pm, drove another 4hrs home. it seemed driving was quicker than sitting there. what a mess.
my first & last time going.
heck, getting in & out of a nascar race is quicker.

on a good note, there was a 2 yami's spanking the competition in the 600 improved class i think. looked like a nytro body & a older vector/nytro bodied sleds.
didn't see the final, because they had a 6pm race time limit or some crap on saturday.
