NDRX-1 said:For all of the longtime ecp/evac users, any downside to adding the slit suggested by Frostbite?
Cutting a slit in the hose anywhere will eliminate the gain afforded by the evac. You will no longer be pulling a negative vaccum created by the carbs on the crankcase becasue the slit will vent the crankcase directly to atmosphere.
Thanks, Freddie. I thought maybe high rpm draw of the carbs would be sufficient to keep the slit sealed or render the slit just another minor "intake" unless and until there was blockage.

NDRX-1, I was thinking the same thing.

just to let you guys know-the rocker cover gasket cant be pushed back in and expected to last-been there done that-it must be removed and the gasket cleaned very well and resecured using GREY rtv sealant
very easy to about an hour total time
the reason it popped the end seal is excessive crankcase pressure-probably from not draining the evac drain enough-the moisture can add up quickly in certain conditions and freeze very quickly-the main reason for the evac system wasnt power but was to stop excess pressure popping the cover gasket, thus the drain in the system,a slit wouldnt do much unless it was near the exit tube on the crankcase but it could be a good "safety" so that if you did forget to drain and the tubes did clog with ice it would help eliminate the pressure
