Heated shield cord management

04JRB, you shouldn't be blowing fuses. Are you sure you have the cable hooked up right?

It did take me some time to figure out if it was from getting it wet, or touching metal. But I eliminated the water from the equasion by making sure it was dry. Double and triple checked that everything was on the level being connected right. I actually found that I blew the fuses after contact with metal when I had stopped, removed my helmet and the cord popped out and hit the riser block. I had just watched snow melt on my visor before removing my helmet while the sled was still running. I found the blown fuse when I got going again.

Not the most scientific way, but I dont blow fuses any more as long as Im concious about it. I only wear that helmet in really cold or precipitous days anyhow.

back before we got modular helmets we had heated shields on our buckets. the connection from the sled was a female, so there was no chance of it shorting on somthing. and the helmet had the male end.
