I'm working on installing my new oilite bushings. Really nice work, Ullmer!

Anyway, I put the front bulkhead bushings in from the front toward the rear. And, I pushed the rear ones in from the outside, as the instructions say. Then, when I put the arms back on, there is a lot of play front to back... like about 1/16 of an inch.

So, then I wasn't sure I put the front ones in right. So, I pushed them out and reinstalled them from the rear, so the collars are both inside, next to the arms. Still, there is front-to-back play.

Next I tried to put the plastic caps back on the arms. That makes it too tight to fit back together, and those plastic washers suffered damage.

What am I doing wrong? Should there be some play front to back? Everything seems very tight, as expected. But this seems like a lot of wiggle room. Help! :o|

Anyone? Did you put the plastic caps back in place when you did the oilites? Or is there a metal washer I'm missing?

Yes reuse the plastic washers.
