Rode 90 miles yesterday, no issues, no problems noticed.
Unloaded and backed machine into garage, went to put the dolly wheels under and noticed the suspension was a bit low. Picked up the rear end and it just sags back down. I'm quite sure I would have felt that all day. Thawed out overnight and everything appears to still be there and in one piece.
Would a blown shock be the first place to start?

Just did some more checking. Still seems to be another few inches of travel down and when you lean on the bumper it goes down and pops back up as normal.
Just seems to be some extra sag in it, might be the cold or something, but shock SEEMS to be functioning.

Take the sled off the dollies and check the suspension sag again. The dollies make the suspension seem like its sagging.

Yes, tried that this morning with everything thawed out. No difference. Lift up on the bumper, then let go - a few inches of sag, then a few more under load and a spring back but not all the way to the top.

Mine did the same thing even with the spring full preload. Had the shock rebuilt and revalved. Not a problem anymore.

Not mechanically inclined...

Can the shock/spring assembly be removed without having to pull the skid out or do I have to drop the track?

Thanks

shock

yes take 1 bolt out of transfer rod on hook adjuster take bolts out and it's done.

Shock assembly easily removed.
Only problem was adjuster cable pulled off shock connection before we could unthread it, suspect a good crimp is all that is needed.
Must be a bit more difficult to re-install shock with the pressure? Ratchet straps maybe??

With the transfer rod undone and the track loose tip the sled on it's side and the shock should slide right in. Put the sled back down on it's track and install the transfer rod bolt...re-tighten/adjust the track. Very easy.

Edit: try installing it first without loosening the track..it may just slide in...kinda depends how tight the track is in the first place. Saves screwing around adjusting the track when you're done.

Have fun!
