i have error code number 37 flashing. it started this year when i fired up the nytro. any one know how to reset theese codes.

accoriding to the error code sheet it is te idol speed controll valve. diagnostic code number 54. i rand the diagnostic check and everything is fine. i went to reset the code or erase it with code nuber 62 but it did not work. is there any tricks or anything else i need to know. i ran code 62 and hit the grip side of the grip warmer button but nothing happend. still shows i have one code detected. do i have to wait or do i ust shut the key off after i erase the code. do i start the sled or something. im confused. any help would be great

i haven't messed with mine on any of this and it's a vector so take it for what it's worth. it's setting the ISC code which if i understand the manual correctly is set when the ISC is signaled to return to idle and the engine doesn't (could be a hung throttle cable or the like). it sounds like you're putting it into diagnostic mode and trying to reset the code which is understandable. that said i'm guessing that only allows you to run the test cycle and reset the history and while you're trying to reset it it's still a hard fault? i don't know if the diagnostic mode will reset the code. in reading the manual it sounds like it should but they have the "reinstatement method" which reads verbatim

"ISC valve returns to it's original position by setting the engine stop switch to "RUN" and turning the main switch on and off. Reinstated if the engine idle speed is within specification after starting the engine"

if i'm reading the manual correctly it sounds as if some/all of these displayed fault codes will reset if the fault is removed and the key cycled on and off. it would probably still be in the history but wouldn't be displayed as a current fault. i'm new to sleds so this is all speculation not spoken from experience.

thanks. does it say how the sled will behave when the valve is stuck fully open. i can not tell any differnce in it. seems to idol fine

not sure i'm following you. i would think if the ISC was stuck wide open it would not idle normally but would be racing some. like i said sleds are new to me. in an automotive application the AIS or IAC (automatic idle speed motor/idle air control) controls the amount of air bypassing the throttle plate(s). i'm sure it's the same on sleds just don't know if the ISC controls the air to the same extent as an AIS. if the sled starts and idles fine it sounds like the ISC is working correctly

OK if it's idling fast then there is a problem (i'm assuming the throttle isn't hung open for any reason). the ECU will throw that code when it's telling the engine to idle and the idle speed is too high. it's not necessarily a bad ISC. it could be a bad connection to the ISC, bad ECU, vacuum hose problem or a couple other things. it's not really practical for me to type out all the diagnostic procedures you really need access to a service manual. when you have it in the diagnostic mode like you did and it's set to d54 when you press the grip warmer side of the rocker switch it should cycle the ISC three full cycles and while it's cycling you should be able to feel it running if you put your hand on it. like i said i'm not that versed with sleds yet. if i read the manual and fiche correctly that ISC is not serviced separately you have to buy the whole throttle body. if i was you i'd get it properly diagnosed ASAP because if the ISC is in fact bad there's a guy on ebay that has two new takeoffs from a 09 nytro for $118 each shipped which is a STEAL. that throttle body assembly is $800 new

remember all this info is from a 2010 vector manual but i would think it's the same
