Well i spanked a tree last week pretty good and I think my 06 Attak is going to be totaled. :o| NADA is $6840, sled is mint and has 2730 mi.

What do you guys think I should get from Allstate if totaled?? Forget the extras (big boy spring, revalve by PP, Fox floats on front, riser, studs), close to NADA? NADA? :dunno: I live on NH/MA line.

thanks.

Friend of ours totalled his 06 Attak a month ago ,Insurance paid 5700.00 and he bought it back for 500.00 in New York

Thanks, Did he buy it back from the insurance co. right when they totaled it??

Yes, As soon as the dealership turned in the estimate, within two weeks he bought it back.

Thanks, thats a pretty low buy back. If mine is that low I will definitely buy back and rebuild but I've heard from others around $2,000, we'll see.

Agree. Usually, the dealer ends up with first crack at the buy-back due to relationship with adjuster (either under or over-the-table), or due to proximity. Or in some cases, there even gets to be a little bidding war between owner and dealer.

In any case, a $500 would be extraordinary, and indicate a total lack of imagination on the part of the adjuster. I'd be astonished if any competent insurance company could be that stupid.

On my 95 v-max the insurance company took three bids and I had to pay the top bid to get it back. That was 700 bucks. This was in 1996.

Update - Settled w/ insurance Co. today, $6700 w/ $800 for extras included, minus $500 deductable = $6200 in pocket.

Would have liked more but not unhappy. They wanted $2008 for buy back but then I would have had to pay for storage @ dealership for past 10 days ($500). No thanks.

wow, storage at the dealership... = $500? ouch...I hate dealerships. All of my local Yamaha dealerships suck as well. Port yamaha is supposed to be great, but they're about an hour and 45 minutes away from me. You can bet that if I ever had to take my sled to a dealership (which probably won't happen), that I'd drive there for piece of mind. I have ordered parts from them just to keep money out of bad local dealerships hands and put it into those that are good (and actually post on forums and help out others).
