Horsepower vs RPM's ?

I'm running a GT 2560 turbo and a efficient 4 into 1 header on my RX1 mountain. The way I have it clutched it's only getting to 9800 rpms. I'm running 17 # of boost and it runs real strong but am wondering how much more hp I would have if I clutched it to about 10800 rpm. Would it be noticeable or should I leave the r's where there at and see if this helps the longevity of the engine? Thanks, Ken....
 
That's what I figured too but I'm wondering if anyone might have dynoed one of these to give me an idea of how many horses I'm leaving on the table by not getting the rpms up to the max. Ken...
 
........if you produced the same torque with the additional RPM you HP goes up since HP is simply a calculated value or expression of "work"

Say your at 250hp @ 9800 (then torque =134 lb-ft)

If you still had 134 lb-ft @ 10,800 then HP = 275 hp

HP = (Torque x RPM) /5252
TQ = (HPx5252) / RPM
 
OK, thats the plan to raise my rpms. Anyone have an idea how much weight I need to take out to ad about 1000 rpms ? I'm running 8BU-OO fully loaded with some added weight by welding to them. Ken...
 
1 gram=+/-200rpm that is the rule of thumb. I would start at 5 gram if looking for 1000 rpm change and dial in from there, You might have to change primary spring on lighter weight to, Your engage,ent will go up higher with the same spring cause less weight.

Also depending on what brand of weights; loading the inner too much to reduce initial overrev will override the tip & no matter how much weight you take out from the tip it won,t have as much effect on high speed rpm,s.
