There are 6 of of guys going to ride from Lower Michigan to the St Ignace UP. We want to stay in St Ignace. We will take the snow bridge or get trailered over the bridge. We are looking for a hotel that has a trail going right to the hotel with out going down any crapy roads. Has any one done this? Where is a good place to stay. We are going to have a 200 mile ride to get there. We want to have a few drinks and go to bed. Get up in the morning and ride some more. Thank you

you better check snow conditions parts of northern michigan could be bad,
trails in u.p. are not the best, but then again when would you be going also you can only trailer sleds across bridge i'm pretty sure.

Yeah what Dawg said, snow is thin yet in Iggy.
Driftwood and Budget Host Inn have trail right behind them, easy access. Bar @ Driftwood.
No pool/hot tub @ Driftwood
Nice pool & hot tub @ Budget Host
Also Super8 out on US2, trail can be iffy though.
BTW the above hotels support the local snowmobile club.

If you have decent trails, you might find 200 miles pretty easy. Maybe consider the option to keep on going to Newberry once you get across? There's a Comfort Inn on the trail south of town at the corner of M-28 and M-123 . The Lady and I have run that trip from Gaylord a few times.
Regarding a snowbridge, you may find one from St. Ignace to the island, but not all the way across. They normally will have a shipping channel open. Water skipping out there not a good plan. Plan on the trailer ride. It's easy, quick, and cheap.

I dont know when your trip is planned, but right now thre is no snow in St. Ignace, maybe an inch. but all the hotels you have to ride the roads at least a little to get to the trails. To the best of my knowledge.
