1900 miles.
Bent: 0
Broken: 0

Guess I don't get to use that warranty.

This is the first year I have ever broken a stud. Broke 3, 4000 miles on studs. Woody's stainless. Went with stainless to do away with corrosion and it worked, but stainless is softer and not as durable. Will go back to hardened steel next time around or the new Ice Claw track. I stud just for tracktion on icy corners or roads, not for all out performance. Just the safety of having a studded track is piece of mind. :o|

Stud-Boy

Give them a try, they are great !!

I used to use only woody's then someone turned me onto studboy and I havent looked back.

speaking of studs, do you guys know of any clearance prices anywhere seeing the season is closing down?

Anybody try these being sold on eBay? 144 studs, nuts and backers for $140.

Features:
Extreme Max Platinum Series Studs

Extreme Max Platinum Series Studs are specifically designed to work on all tracks. The stud body is contructed from hardened military grade steel. Our two step insert gas heat treatment process provides a 30% increase in abrasion resistance and a 25% increase in bend resistance. The exclusive taper profile provides maximum protection of the carbide insert. All materials and construction are 100% MADE IN AMERICA.

We use premium industrial grade carbide for 80 degree tips (high impact-ultra high abrasion resistance).

This head design provides up to 36% more track contact area than other brands. This greatly reduces the risk of stud pull-thru on today's high horsepower machines. The heads of our studs sit flush with your track allowing it to turn freely and without chatter.

Our torx drive head is over 30% stronger then the outdated hex drive designs. Not only does it resist stripping, it also makes the critical base area much stronger and more resistant to breakage than other brands.

Our industry exclusive 2 YEAR WARRANTY for no-hassle Bend/Breakage is a testament to the confidence we have in our product.

I have 96 Woodys 1.325 studs and have had nothing but problems.Bent allmost all of them in 2 years . I always inspect and replace after every weekend. Just 2 much maintance involved. Last weekend one tore right thru leaving a perfect size square whole in my Ripsaw track, and to make it worse it went right thru my brand new 2 week old red snow flap :o| i am a very conservative rider, i never spin my track unnessasarily. I will never stud again.

Ive got the WOODYS SS studs and nuts and double backers..

THey are awsome.. i had 2 really bent ones.. but i just broke them off and replaced them..

2000 miles and no lost tips.. i do have a few slightly bent ones but no biggy..

1.25" 9813 track with 144 Woody's 1.325" Megabites down the center and only one bent stud during two seasons of riding (approx. 3000 miles). ;)!

I have a 136" Ripsaw, 108 1.325" Woodys stainless studs with the big nuts and square powdercoated blue backer plates.

Had the round ones and pulled a stud, was extremely pissed. Then went over the track to realize I had a few lugs cracked. What a POS, not even a year old and im a 500 fanny pack taking an extreme easy on the track liek not spinning over snowbanks or anything like that, basically being gentle on the track.

Studs are 100% perfect, I reccomend these after running Golddiggers

BTW, anyone with a ripasaw or track with lugs larger than 1.25" RUN SQUARE BACKER PLATES!!

I have had so many round ones bend and changed that I went through at least 30 in one night replacing. Said F@#$ it and bought the square ones which have more surface area, meaning more leverage can be applied to them without being overly stressed and the likelihood of pullthoughs is reduced. The large stud puts so much stress on the backer plate because of the added leverage the long length provides that the round ones simply cannot provide more than equal force to counteract the stud movement.

Just a little tip to save some $$$$

EXACTLY!! And the bigger problem is when they cut through your front heat exchanger...Yup happened to me... lost a weekend of riding and a Switchback had to pull me home..... The track pulls are a bigger problem I think than breakage, studs are much stronger than they used to be..

#$%&*

190 1.325 roetin hornets with square backers up the middle in my first ripsaw. The studs were still in excellent condition after 3500 miles. Handful borken, none bent. They outlasted the track so I took them out and put them in my new ripsaw.

1000 more miles, probably a dozen borken and the tips are wearing quite a bit. The carbide is till there though. Used a different pattern with 168 up the middle. Also added a supercharger so the extra power, allong with poor riding conditions this year have added to the extra wear.

I've been very impressed with them. I definately wouldn't stud more than a 1.25 track. My next sled (phazer) will get 1" studs, and I may go with a second 1.5 track for mid winter conditions.

144 Gold Diggers down the center with double and single backer pattern. Broke one off and bent 3 badly in 1000 miles last season. Installed tall nuts this season and have not seen any issues in 700 miles. The photo happens to show the broken one.

I've used Saber Warthogs in the past that had a lifetime warranty and never bent or broke one, but I ruined my track instead when something had to give. Got to watch out that you don't make your stud system too tough.
