Also, don't try to read new plugs, they need some dirt and miles on them to show changes.
Also, also...if you look close at the ground (the tang that goes from the threads and sits over the center electrode) you will see what's called a carbon ring. Youd like this to stay close to the bend. If it's close to the end, it's rich, if it's past the bend, closer to the threads, you are lean. This is another way to read 4 strokes, as well as 2 strokes.
