Well it's time to change the sliders on my Phazer Mountain Lite after 2700 km. I thought this was pretty good, as the track has 2-in lugs and 80 % was groomed trail riding with a fair bit on hardpack and icey conditions.

Anyway, I got my sliders ordered and was tryingto figure out how to change them. I know you have to loosen the track. I've read that there is a set screw in the front of the rail, is there only one. I also know that some people spray them with something to make them slide on and off.

What about heat cycling them? Is there any real advantage?

Thanks

Just loosen the track. There is one screw at the front of the sliders where they tip up. Then line the end of the sliders in a track slot. They pull out pretty easy. Use a chisel and tap t with hammer to get them started. Be careful not to hit to hard and get to the rails. To put new ones in it really helps to use a plumbers torch to expand the plastic alittle. Just heat up and down both sides. Then replace the screws, tighten the track and your good to go. Some say to heat the hyfax up then let them cool really hard for a break in.
