a possible replacement for The Woodlands (Shingleton) for group breakfasts..........BUT.........the good news is the road commission or CN (I'm not sure which) recently completely rebuilt the rr crossing behind the Wetmore BP station, complete with ramp for the trail crossing..........

Looks like you're safe from now on, T............ LaLaLa

I hate to say this but what about the CherryWood? I heard from a little birdie that it is under new ownership again, maybe that restaurant has turned around since the last time we sat in there for a 4 hour breakfast?

Not as far as I know..........I think it still belongs to the Ramsey's (of The Dogpatch).........use a LOT of staff in common........we just had breakfast at The Patch on Wed........(no power for 48 hrs.).......and nobody said anything about it changing hands?????

HI Bubbah,

Yes the Dog Patch and Cherrywood are owned by the same peps.

Another little birdie was hoping the Woodsman may be open again for the winter. Its a hope

Mabey the Beartrap will do more than cook eggs :)

Beats the He** out of me.........I was at the dump (right across M28) this morning and never even looked at it. About the only time I ever go that way is to go to the dump. I've got to take an entire trailer load of construction trash tomorrow so I'll look..........or more correctly, given the age and all, try to remember to look............... LaLaLa

Well I'll be go to He**!!! I drove down by there and sure enough there's three "modules" of what looked like 4 rooms each jacked up on rails with wheel sets under them. I did notice that they were from the older, original section of the place and that the remaining sections all had what looked like either new or refinished railings. Knowing who the owner is, he's probably got them sold to some of you unsuspecting cheeseheads as "luxury condominiums" .........at a suitably outrageous price.

One of the guys that comes to our coffee group a couple times a week is tight with all the local "establishment". I'll find out from him exactly what's going on next time he's there.........he was just there today so I may not see him until the first of the week.

O.K., here's the story.............

The guy that owns the old Best Western bought a piece of commercial property on Lake Superior in town near the paper mill that has been for sale for quite awhile. Rather than build completely new on that property, he's moving some of the "modules" from the existing hotel (which no longer does the same business it used to) to the lakefront. As far as we know they're just waiting for the "roads" to freeze solid so they will handle the load.

Why bother,lol
Those things are paper thin and are old. When someone starts there sled it sounds like there right next to your bed.
Thanks for the update.
