I wasn't going to attempt climbing over this berm until my partner told me I couldn't make it  Anybody else have photos showing the poor performance attributes of the RX1 in deep snow?

yehaw

that is an awesome stuck!!! Where did you find snow like that, looks like Rockie Mountain snow, steep deep and harder than hell to dig out of. If it wasnt such a good bury, and such a good picture of you I would call you a dumbass for climbing something that close to trees, but kudos anyway. Gotta love that picture

Hell you call that stuck? Little tug on the skis and you'd be out. This is stuck. Went to shoot out of a creek bed but I happened to hit right where there was a patch of willows and the damn thing went straight in like a Scud missile. Accually managed to put it in reverse and with a couple buddies pulling on the back bumper it backed itself out. By the way all the smoke in the picture is from my buddies SLP 700 MM. Two strokes STINK!

Hey bum where in hell were you going, anyway  looked like 5' more and you and the furs would be all set for christmas 04 he he now thats how to get stuck, gota love it, good luck digging out. 8)

Maybe you guys should carry a beacon like the Skiers use in case of an avalanche.[/b][/b]

Everyone I know including myself do carry a beacon ,shovel and probe incase of an avalanche.

snowfever- That is quite the implant! I had to look at the picture twice before I realized where the sled was!

mnmsnowbeast- I was heading for a packed area on the other side of the berm where I could have made a U-turn without putting additional wear on my shovel.

True Blue- Consider getting a snorkel and periscope for your next mod. :D

RXONE- I never leave the parking lot without a shovel, probe, and avalanche transceiver. I also do not care to ride with anyone who does not have avalanche gear... they may have to find my a$$! Avalanches are a regular occurance where we ride, and we take them very seriously. These machines can get you killed very quickly in avalanche terrain. We pay close attention to the avalanche advisories- www.avalanche.org - and are careful about what routes we choose. We travel one at a time through high risk areas and to cover each other and limit our exposure. I am always amazed when I come across a group of two smokers parked at the bottom of an avalanche path taking turns highmarking over the rest of their group. Most snowmobilers do not have much of an education when it comes to avalanche safety, but the responsibility rests on all of us to be prepared. These machines give very easy access to dangerous ground.

Have fun, push the envelope, but never let your guard down, and don't take it for granted...

OK now lets see some more carnage shots! This is fun :D

Pics are great!
I agree with Ski-Bum. We all need to be aware of the current avalance dangers. We see a lot of bone-head moves by sledders not concerned for others or themselves. Last thing I want to do is to dig someone out after an avalanche when it could have been avoided. We ride with peeps, probes and shovels. The shovels, of course, come in handy in the deep stuff! The rangers in many areas give avalanche classes, use of the transeveres and basic safety. Worth checking out.

O.K., this isn't exactly burried like you mountain guys can do, but this is just off the side of a trail in Pittsburg, NH. I missed a corner because my old heated shield wasn't working, and I was just following the glow of tail lights in front of me, and I misjudged where the trail was. Not a scratch on it, I was lucky that I didn't go any further and get the trees. I was doing 50+ when it happened.

Well some of you that have been on the mtn section might have seen these, but here are mine from the week of new years.
