Inline Heater

Looking at putting in an inline heater for those real cold mornings and just wondering where would be the best spot to mount it? The only real easy place is on the line beside the oil tank. Anyone else put one on?

My dealer told me that an oil pan heater would work better and not to do inline. Don't remember why.
