my problem is the first one,no clearence, the heather is against the oil tank and the fan is against heather, just like its all jammed together so it does put pressure on the rad, wonder if the oil tank can be set back a tad, prob not

How does the fan work? Does it help suck heat (air) off the rad? Or does if blow air (in the wrong direction) through the rad?
Does it literally just bolt on, plug in, and work with the thermostat? Does it run contant or does it kick on and off atomatically?
Have only seen the temp light once, and it was on a plowed road, 35 degrees, and traveling at slowspeeds. Just went a little faster and the light went back off.

got the fan installed tonight, had to move the coolant heather down about 3/4 inch.not much room to play with, works awesome.i started the machine, got it warmed up till the rpm dropped, then waited for the fan to come on and watch for airlocks.took 10 minutes for the fan to go and i was revving it at about 3000 rpm,it doesnt run that long either cause it really blows air,no airlock,no more overheating worries.my dealer called yamaha and they said that they are looking into it but they are not paying for the fan right now.

Hey Gypsy: I will be interested to know how your circ heater works once it gets cold enough in your area. Is it on the same hose as Yellowknifes just in a different location or is it on a different hose all together? YellwoKnife has his heater installed in a different spot, I couldn't tell exactly where, but it seems like it is inside of the bulkhead. No biggie, but there is another possible location. So if I ever choose to install a supercharger on the black lite, I know I can relocate the heater.
Pat, has your dealer given you an answer?
I hope Yamaha picks up the tab...not fair...the other sleds need it , but yours doesn't?!?!?!?
That's crap!
