Sorry guys, im still a 4 stroke newbie and bought an 09 Apex MTX and I wondered if it was ok to lay it on her side long enough to do some work on her? and if so does it matter which side and how long after putting her back down can i start the engine, do I need to bleed it? any help would be great, thanks.....

tippin sled

be carefull laying it on the right side. The radiator can get crushed if you are not gentle laying it down.fuel can also come out the vent line if you are full.
I use a 20L pale to put the handle bar on when i need to tip it

ok, this is what I wanted to know, I figured the siide with the reservoir would be safe, will they stay on their side without propping it up on a bucket??

I have laid them both Rx's and Apexes on both sides and completely upside down, 1 was on its hanlebars for over 20 minutes and I never had an oil issue.

They will run upside down for a while too.......Incase you were wondering :) Eric

hehe, actually I was told when they tip at a bad angle the computer will shut them off, or is this just on the Nytro's ?

I like these for tipping these big heavy sleds over...prevents popping side panels, leaking fluids, or crushing the radiator.

I've gone left on mine twice, once to install the skid plate and once while stuffing the sled. The skid plate, I had the bars propped up at the height of a roughtote rubbermaid. The stuffing incident was over on it's left side at 90+ degrees. Lost lots of oil in the stuffing cause I had to wait for help to stand it back up. The skid plate lost no oil.

So it really depends on how far over you go on the left.

My girlfriend just rolled my Attack and it was upside down for 10 mins before we could get it righted. Lost the entire dash pod except windshield and gauges, no notieable oil loss. She blew a turn got the outside ski in soft stuff and it sucked her in and over. Had to ride 40 miles with no headlight pod that was bit chilly.
