Wondering if changing the stator on RS sleds fixes all the electrical problems for good?? Anyone have any problems after having new stator installed?? Can you run all hand warmers without issues?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Problems?
It would help alot if you told what problems you are having.

no problems just thinking of changing it before I have issues. I have the ground for the rear hand warmers grounded to the frame and not going through the ECU so when I have them turned on they are on. Wondering if the new stator would be able to run all electrical without issue.

What sort of problems are you having with the electrical system? The igniter runs several things on these sleds including the handwarmers and T.O.R.S. etc. Tell us more.

So your hand warmers for your rider dont work very well? Probably your hand warmers on you handle bars don't work very well either?

There is a post on here explaining that the rear warmers on the ventures only will work when the electrical load is such that the stator can handle them. The driver warmers get hot and everything on the sled works as it should. What i'm trying to avoid is the sudden stator taking a crap out in the middle of nowhere and if the new stators are improved over the old one as to not ever have the same stator problems in the future. Obviously there was a defect with the factory ones. Just doing some preventative maintenance. Ido alot of night riding by myself and don't want to walk home if i can help it. I'm nearing 7000 miles and think maybe it should be changed. I didn't wait for the cam chain tensioner to fail either I just changed it before any problems occurred.

06 Vector stator failed at about 9000 miles. Just one of those things. I had a few warning signs so managed to have replaced before it stranded me. I don't believe the replacement stator was an improved version of the original, so wouldn't replace for just being proactive. The technician told me that the stator can't get rid of any excessive heat due to the oil tank being right next to the stator housing, so some in time start to fail for this reason. However, it may never fail as well.

Thanks for the info guys. The main thing I was questioning was if the new stators are new and improved or not. Sounds like they are the same. I guess I'll wait to see if I have any issues. Thanks Again!!

What were the warning signs?

Warning sign for me was a low battery. Not enough juice to start. Once I charged the battery up, the sled started and ran fine. However, the battery wouldn't charge up to full voltage (12.8 v) in my sled and would lose voltage. Put a meter on the booster cables and was showing much lower than the 14 volts at 5000 rpm as spec.

I must have jinxed myself because now the sled won't fire. No spark but turns over fine with a new battery. Checked the resistance on the stator and can't get a reading. Ran great a few days ago. Ordered a new OEM replacement.
