I know it's not sled related but I don't know a better place to ask for this kind of stuff. You guys always help out and are the best.
I recently blew the motor in my TTR 125 dirtbike. While I have her stripped down I decided to paint her. I have primer, paint, and clear coat. What I want to know is how many coats of each should I put on the plastics and the frame. For the handles bars and a few other bare metal things I want to just prime and clear coat because I like the color of the primer. However I did the handle bars before and I put on two coats of primer and two coats of clear coat and within a week it started to rust. So for the plastics and frame:
primer->
paint->
clear coat->
For the various metal items:
primer->
clear coat->
Any help very much appreciated guys, thanks in advance, maniac

i think you might have to use a plastic specific paint on the plastics. powder coating would last better than paint unless you use industial paint, that stuff is really good and is a one coat aplication. lasts really well on heavy equipment.

The guy at the store told me the paint will work for plastics. I was worried about that if it bent would the paint crack and he said it shouldn't so I'm going by his word for all of this. It better not crack.
