I am running an RX1 near sea level (Michigan U.P.), and was wondering what size pilot and main jets would be good. I havent taken my current jets out yet, but I imagine they are stock for this altitude.
What size jets would be safe to lean it out a bit?? I have no other mods except a BENDER race silencer.

Its a new game. Need to throw out the 2 stroke mentality. Click 'search' at the top of the page and run one on "jetting". Lots of threads and discussions. You'll probably find most recommending you jet up or richer. To get you started, here is a post from earlier in the year.

You have 135 mains, go to 137.5. Even by the yammie jetting chart, for low and cold, it should have 137.5.

Be careful, nice advice up their. four bangers can take anything but if you go to lean you'l be in trouble (i mean expencive one) better richer than leaner. To me

jetting leaner?
Thanks for the insight guys. I am completely new to this four-stroke thing. I have ordered FLO-COMMANDERS and Im gonna give that a try. When I do the install, I will see what jets I actually have and let U know. Is there any other sinc stuff that should be looked at once I'm working on the carbs???

When you begin tuning with the Flo-Commander you will probably see that you are already a little lean. The use of the Flo-Commander will allow you to experiment and I too was going to lean out last year and went to 132.5 and seemed to fall off below about 10 degrees. Now I went up to 140 and am still possibly a little lean. Did you order the main and pilot system of just the main?

I ordered both the pilot and main systems. I figured that was the best way to go. Seems like a good value, as far as price/performance goes.
I will let you know as soon as I start the installation.

BTW, if you're talking Lake Superior area, you're at about 1500 feet above sea level. Check the topo maps. Not that it will make much difference, but, you're not at "sea level".

Actually Lake Superior is roughly at the elevation of 601 feet. Dave, your driveway if roughly 745' above sea level.
