As stated i just got 08 apex 40th anniversary. After my first ride on the lake around 7-10k rpm for 20 min i starter to smell something funny like burning plastic. Opened up the airbox there was a lot of oil in the intake from the crank case tube, i turned the sled on, out of hose came alot of white smoke along with that same plastic burning smell. Is this normal for a apex with 3,000 miles?

Re: Just bought a apex, think im blowing oil! whats normal?
Welcome to the site.
Did you check your oil level in the tank? The usual culprit for this is an over full oil tank/engine.
Where did you purchase it from, private or dealer?

Oil does not smell like burning plastic. What plastic parts are in the motor?
I get a bit of oil in the airbox from time to time, but have never smelt burnt plastic coming from the motor. Oil type smell yes! Plastic No!

Riding on the Lake? Sure it's not hot sliders you're smelling?
