Any rear suspension in the nitro is an improvement and a huge weight loss.
I have the timbersled which handles very well and is very light. The only complaint I have is that it does not allow ski lift on a stock sled but with boost it will and with my header it is definitely better. I think their new rear arm design would allow for more lift when you want it and dial in less when you don't want it.

There is a poll over on SW and both the timbersled and the Kmod are neck and neck for the best resr skid for the nytro. the first generation of the Kmod had problems but those have long been worked out. Timbersled is not without issues either with there drop brackets that have been know to be hard on the tunnel. I have a TS skid on mine and am very happy with it but if i had to do it all over again i am not sure i would make the same decision. Both rear skids do the same thing but go about it in a slighty different way. I would say it is worth the money from what i have been reading and after talking to a few riders that have the skid. You will find that there are two camps out there. the people that like TS and the other people who like Kmod.

I would personally use another drop bracket although I have had 0 issues but then again I am not dropping of cliffs. I was going to get a kmod but at the time you where getting more weight loss and more for the money with timbersled imho.
Either way I do not think you can go wrong

The nytro is an mtx se, fox float.
Would be nice with with some weight reduse, maybe the timbersled is the one then. But i do like the looks of the kmod.will the sled come more up, on the snow with a new skid?.

I don't know what year yours is but with mine no comparison. It pops right up and the original would just sink.

I built an MCX 270 nytro in 2009 with a 162. First season I had the mtn tamer, then have had the KMOD ever since. Both are a huge improvement over the 08 skid, but I prefer the KMOD for bigger bumps and I can dial in less ski lift for steep climbs. I wish I had the raptors instead of the floats, but that's what I'll get next time. I still own the Mtn Tamer and it is on my stock nytro. I've had a few issues with the rear slide mechanism losing bushings and getting rusted a bit. The grease never seems to stay in that slide piece either. I have no experience with their new design, but hope it requires less maintenance.
My Brother has the 2010 mtx se with a 240hp kit and stock 162 skid. There is no comparison between his skid and my KMOD. KMOD works better in every way, except wheelies!
PM me if you want to sell your float skid. I know someone who wants to upgrade their 08 skid to a 2010+ 162", but he doesn't want to spend the money for an aftermarket skid.
