i just had an MCX turbo installed and have a small coolant leak. Has anyone had any small coolant leaks on their machines and if so where from? Would be SOO convienent if it was something known and simple, and not something shitty like a leaking headgasket.

The only time my rx1 leaked was the overflow hose from over filling it check that first.

coolant bottle cap. Put a breather hose on it. Never had a problem since
I agree. I was confused in the beginning of the season because I also noticed the coolant bottle level went down a little bit between every ride. After couple of rides I figured out what was going on. The coolant bottle cap does not have a hose that reaches down into the bottle. When riding extremely bumpy trails, the coolant is slushing around inside the bottle and a small amount seems to leak out during every such ride.

Not sure if this is your problem, but adding a hose to the coolant bottle cap stopped my leakage.

adding a hose inside the resevoir? there is already one outside the resevoir on my sled.

i looked at the end of the hose and it was wet, looked like coolant was coming out there. It wasn't a big leak, topped it up a bit after 100kms+

i was thinking of running the overflow line upwards so that there was less chance of stuff running out of it.

My previous sled (Attak) had a short piece of hose on the inside of the coolant bottle cap, just long enough to reach below the fluid level. When I noticed coolant escaping from my FX Nytro, I added a similar hose. It seems to help so far.

Running the owerflow hose upwards will probably help too.

i'll try the hose inside and pointing the overflow hose upwards and report back after my next trip.

fingers crossed that it works good and gets rid of the issues. I know i was going pretty good over some bumpy trails and rolled the machine over a couple times so there was definetly the possiblility to leak from sloshing around.
