I just picked up a 06 Kodiak 450 "1st 4wheeler I've owned" and I have a couple of ?? . This sight has always been great for snowmobile help so I figured I give the 4 wheeler forum a try .
It will be primarily used around hunting property for food plots , plowing snow , hauling deer and some fun from time to time
1 Best plow and winch set up
2 What quiet exhaust is best
3 lube , can I use synthetic in the motor and pumpkins ??? I was told not to at the dealer "wet clutch" It looks like a snowmobile clutch in the sales brochure .
4 A receiver hitch ?
5 any other cool goodies this thing might need
Thanks

Id say warn makes about the best winch, probly a 2.5 would be plenty for your quad. Im not sure on plows I plan on getting one for next winter but I havnt researched it much yet. HMF makes a couple nice exhausts for the utility quads, there are several companies that make farily quiet ones. I dont think you can use synthetic in the motor because inside the motor are those "wet clutches" they talk about, They also recommend you not use any oil labeled "energy conserving" because it could make those clutches slip.

I think your on the right track the only other thing you might find you want is larger deeper lugged tires. I would recommend riding with your stockers for a while and maybe once they wear down a little pick up some mud lights or 589's they are both great tires. You will notice a major difference in your quads capability with a set of these

Good choice RMW!
I run Klotz 10w40 motorcycle synthetic oil in my 03 and 05 Kodiak 450's and I have not had any problems. I have been using Klotz oil for 20 years with excellent results, but any motorcycle/atv specific synthetic oil will work fine.
here is a web site for a receiver hitch.
