So I think they did that just to get the money out of ya that they didn't make off the track. My friend from the dealer said that they do install parts that customers bring in but they stress that they will not warentee the part and that sometimes it takes more time to "fit" a non yammy part.
I think that you are right that they inflated the labor to get the $ that they did not get on the track. I don't mind getting nipped a little sometimes for convenience and to get things done. If it becomes a regular event I will need to look elsewhere for service and do more maintenance myself.
Question - what would be a better move - have Halfbaked rebuild my broken 05 W arm which has the smaller diameter tubing or buy a new OEM 08/09 W arm? Either one would be a spare for the rest of this season and be put on in the summer for next season.

I would buy a 2010 if they bolt up the same. Those are reinforced even more than the 08/09

My understanding is that the 2010 is not a direct replacement

Most dealers have a base labor rate that is posted in their service area. Be it a bike, snowmobile or ATV shop or car dealer they should post it. Maybe they discount that rate if you buy the parts from them but in no way should they charge more. This may be regulated in your state and maybe not, I'd check into that. You should check with some other locals to see what kind of reputation they have. If they are out to shaft people maybe you should post there NAME here so others don't frequent their establishment. Just ny 2c worth!
